Features09 Notifications

Hear about it when a node goes down at night.

A message to Gotify, ntfy, a webhook or a Windows notification when something in the swarm needs attention and does not recover by itself. Once per problem, and again when it is resolved.

Fig. — Notifications: a Gotify channel, quiet hours at night, and per problem a waiting time and a message when resolved.

What you can do

What is worth a message

A node or manager that is down, no leader, a locked swarm, an update that pauses or rolls back by itself, a service below its count, tasks that keep failing, a lost connection, a disk that is 90% full (measured every five minutes), or a scheduled backup or image update that failed.

Changes by others

Changes made by others, such as a drain, a new role, or nodes or services added or removed, can be turned on as well.

Four channels

A channel gets everything from the severity you choose. Channel tokens are stored encrypted with DPAPI.

Once, and once more when resolved

One message per problem after a waiting time, and another when it is resolved. Problems that go off together are merged, and something that keeps coming back goes quiet for an hour.

Quiet hours

Optional quiet hours end with a summary of what was held. Ordinary task changes and what the app does itself stay quiet.

The bell

The bell at the top right shows the latest notifications, with the new ones marked. Clear empties the panel and marks them as read; new ones appear again. The full log is under Settings › Notifications, where the gear in the panel goes.

From the notification area

The swarm is only watched while the app runs: it can stay in the notification area and start with Windows (Settings › General), and pause notifications for an hour from there.
